Greater Imperial Germany by SoxWithPotatoes Greater Imperial Germany by SoxWithPotatoes
A hypothetical German Empire some decades after a victorious WW1 and an obligatory Anschluss.

This is my first map.

vom Thailandurlaub^^

The only real problems I have with this are names;

Kingdom of Austria, should be Archduchy. I can't think of why they'd change it.

Wartheland, should be Posen. Wartheland was only really floated during the Nazi government, I can't see Imperial Germany changing the provinces' name, given that it has been the Grand Duchy(later Province) of Posen for so long. Maybe with the aditions they'd name it "South Prussia".

Youre right, South Prussia would have been a better choice. Too late for that now.

Austria is a kingdom instead of an archduchy here since the Archduchy of Austria only consited out of what is now called Lower and Upper Austria.

Mhh it would be possible they want the name Wartheland, even Friedrich the Great
mentioned this area as Wartheland or more Warthebruch, but yes Posen is more logical.

I made a few maps in the past but I was always unsatisfied with the results. To be more precise, its rather my first map I have ever finished and uploaded somewhere.

An amazing map with an enormous depth of detail regarding the borders between the Germn States(and others).

While I'm not a fan of such an extensive expansion of Germany, the germanized names are quite interesting!

Amazing! Phenomenally well done! So detailed. You can see all the states so perfectly among each other.

How did you get the German names for Italian cities? Did you research them or create them? I know that Udine/Weiden and Trent/Trient are historical, but what about the rest?

Poor Poland keeps getting pushed further and further east xD

Well at this point, since Franche-comté is in, why not entire Switzerland_?_

I guess that wouldn't really be a problem. One of the reasons why German nationalists always have interest in eastern France is because they are supposed to have a big deal of ancient Germanic blood. I can see that being true as well for non-German Swiss.

Yes, I believe i'm about at least 40% of Germanic origin and my family name is germanic too.
It's also cause of the western border of the HRE i believe ^^

And over all, not wanting to go with stinky France :P

You are right to mention the HRE as well. Actually both ancient Germanic ancestry and the old HRE seem to be somewhat connected.

Oh mein Gott this is the best map I´ve seen in the last weeks, that looks so professionell and beautiful! Fantastic!

Ah so Austria decided to unite with Germany and France really had to lose some regions. And Prussia is big as never before.
For Deutschböhmen you followed exactly the language border I guess?

:iconsoxwithpotatoes:

Yes I mostly used 3rd Reich divisons for German Bohemia/Moravia which followed the language border.
